Thread: ruger mk 1 action barrel thread size ???

    ruger mk 1 action barrel thread size ???

    i have a ruger mk1 270 question is would anyone know what size the thread is barrel to action any help appreciated.thinking to re barrel with a donor barrel cheers

    Ive got I think the exact same barrel in the shed. If no-one gets back to you I can dig it out and check tomorrow.

    According to a diagram in Bolt Action Rifles Revised Edition 1984 by Frank de Haas, it is 16 V TPI. The length is .690", major diameter is .998"

    That's for a bolt action M77. Did you mean M77 Mk1 (as opposed to the later M77 MkII) or a Ruger Number 1 single shot?

    Just to be a little nit picky, just cause I want to be, there is no such thing as a Ruger Mk1 rifle, the MK1 is actually their first auto 22 pistol. The original Ruger rifles were Ruger M77s, the next is the Ruger M77 MkII. It is a common mistake made.
