Excellent vid Greg and a cool carbine!
Had a look at one yesty. Have to say Ruger are doing some good things lately.
I would think it would really suit some pig hunters broken down in their day bag.
Good fun on short 3 gun courses.
Guy at our club bought one. He has tipped a goat over with it.
No 40 S&W ones coming into NZ I hear?

Nice review. The rest does not give fore end control so may account for the slightly vertical groups.
i had a look at one yesterday, looks good and have been doing a bit of research so thanks for the video. it just seems a little heavy for a pistol round gun
great toy are these for sale anywhere in the south island
what about a 45?
Wish they made a semi 357/44.
yep, that fella at Custom Guns has them for sale. :D
$$$$ please
i rang gun city they have none in chch waiting for a shipment
i looked at a youtube vid, the bolt face assembly is not part of the bolt itself and can be removed without tools. the weight in the bolt assy looked easy to change too. so since the barrels come off i think the idea is that it may be likely that upgrade kits of bolt faces and weights (plus mags etc) may be on the market in the near future for varying calibers
I know where there is one but it won't be there for long[emoji16]

h&f has them picked up one from dunedin last week. Two more coming in stock soon.Seems accurate enough three round same hole group at 25m.
It's a cool little rig, barrel swap outs would be nice. If other stock options are available in the future - something abit more 'cooler' looking, I'd be keen.
$1250, i have plenty, and more coming.
if your keen gimme a ring, 0279182760
cheers

Where is your shop located @greghud?
ruger triggers are always heavy from the factory
I would have liked them to put a better thread on it ,1/2 inche is very thin for a 9mm , 5/8 would have been much better , 1/2 inche is a stupid legacy from the 9mm Colt carbine , flash hider .
That can easily be sorted out with a good lathe ;-)
I think the barrel fluting with limit that
As long as I have 12 mm of plein barrel ahead of the fluting it should not be an issue.
fluting is machinable if that's the problem. If I really wanted it done and still required a larger unfluted surface to do the suppressor up against, i'd thread the section of barrel a little longer and make a machined threaded washer to screw onto it.
Ruger seem to be making excellent barrels at the moment, at an excellent price.
The 147Hp was the winner, group looked much better than the FMJ, no surprises there though.
With some hand loads 147 XTPs around 980 fps 3.6grains 231win be worth a try.
Rusa 147's shooting really nice out of my AR9.
Disconnecting barrel and taking out of battery each time is creating 2 things though. Your first shot in a semi or pistol can sometimes shoot different poi to the following shots. Especially noticable in pistol and why put first into berm when accuracy testing.
Not that it really matters with this sort of rifle I guess?
Will be putting mine on the for sale section shortly,Hardy can vortex red dot $1500 if it is of any interest to any one?No issues
Has the front sight been removed?
