Thread: Ruger Ranch 300BLK

I got one of the first three to actually land in the country back in Feb this year through Reloaders and its - well, special... Ended up selling the pump action Troy which while it was also sub moa I just felt I'd shoot a huge amount of 300 ammo if I kept it, with those 30 round mag's

Takes a bit of playing around to get the best sub and super mix but essentially have got it running well on SMK's at sub Moa (125gr) as my target round and 125 and 168gr noslers as hunting supers with 196 gr lehighs the flavor for sub's.

It's my go to bush rifle for the NI and incredibly useful and able in that role... I've used Nathan Fosters stock stabiliser for the fore-end as to begining with its pretty whippy in the fore-end - now like a rock and I shaved a lot off the trigger sear and polished to solve a longish travel slightly creepy feeling trigger - now smack on. Also removed a turn off the spring to bring the trigger pull weight down to just under 2 pounds with the screw at its lowest (otherwise its a typical US high break weight trigger) so you can play with it or swap it for a Timney.

Once you have it all dialed in trigger wise its a glue and screw just like bedding a accuracy international stock after you've crc -soft sealed (thanks Nathan for all the advice)

I played with mine before deciding I didn't need a Timney transplant - phew nice to know if you have a back up plan if it goes south..
