Had a balls up, haven’t had my rifle out in quite a while. Some how some water has made its way into my gun safe and the foam padding at the bottom had absorbed ,potentially came through the block wall behind it . Any way the bore looks fine I always push an oily patch through when I know I’m not using it for a while but I store it barrel down and the outside of the barrel has coped a hiding. My surpessor will hide it but any tips to tidy it up ? Was thinking some fine steel wool ? Attachment 209544

A lot on the forum like 4 0000 steel wool I use it but I like to start with a very coarse piece of old towel and do it over 3-4 days spray on WD 40 OR BALLISTOL or nut cracker - leave for a night more spray- gentle pat with towel and just keep going until gone - real bad ones I have cleaned up for mates yup 4OOO steel wool
