    Sako 85 synthetic stock problem

The surface of the stock has gone all sticky. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone suggest a solution to the problem?

I have used acetone and a Scotch Brite pad before on a motorcycle dash that had gone sticky. Not a Sako stock but might be worth a go?

I have heard of it happening to Sako synthetic stocks, it’s rare but it happens

There was a thread on it here years ago

Check out Murfs Precision on FB they remove it with a thinner from super cheap and can recoat it, I'm going to get my carbon light stock done as it's coming off.

No it’s as good as gold

Gave it a clean with dish washing detergent and it came up looking really good

Do you still have the original recoil pad that can go with the stock if purchased ?

Yes, but as to keep the standard over all lenght of pull with the lim saver, I adjusted the stock lenght by 7mm.
The lim saver is a hugh improvement on the felt recoil. Have all the bits but never considered putting it back. The limsaver was 100 by itself.

Not trying to hijack you flock, I also have a Sako 85 Hunter walnut stock, all original that I will be selling. I'm heading into the hills for 10 days so out of touch until then. If someone reading is interested, feel free to reach out with a PM and I'll be sure to get back to you. Joel
