I picked up this rifle second-hand in one of the local gunshops for AUD$600, including the Sako mounts and Leupold 8x scope. The shop owner tried to talk me into a .223 but I could see some interesting grain lurking under the scratched, chipped dark factory stain.
I refinished the stock, changed out the rings for some lower Leupold rings, and replaced the Loopy scope with a Lynx 4-12x40. Found a nice load using ADI Bm1 powder and 40gn v-maxes. Shot it like that for a few years.
A nice little Swarovski Habitch 3-9x36 came along and replaced the Lynx, and itself was then replaced with a Swaro Z3 3-10x42. Just recently found that it also likes BM1 powder with Speer 50gn TNT projectiles.
It's a terrific little rifle for wandering around potting a few rabbits or whistling foxes.
As purchased.
