With your bipod, they are designed to have the legs facing forwards. This is because when the rifle recoils the legs will flex forwards while the rifle recoils backwards. By having the bipod backwards the legs cannot flex so you risk damaging them.
A friend has an A7 in 308. It is a very accurate rifle, I have seen him shoot deer at 700 yds with it.
