    Yes it will thread in, the issue is the more modern barrel has a longer thread length by quite a bit.
    The two solutions are :
    Either machining a threaded sleeve spacer to make up for that space,
    Or trimming down the back on the new barrel and pushing the chamber a bit dipper to headspace properly.
