Retrofitting a plunger ejector in the bolt face would likely cure the problem, but I haven’t heard of anyone offering that fix.

Interesting. I’ve got a couple of short action 85s, one of which I‘ve owned for 12 years, and I’ve never had a problem. They eject reliably regardless of how quick the bolt is cycled
