Sako finnlight 2 in 308

OK I've had this sako finnlight 2 in 308 for a couple of years now. Killed a few animals. Seams that lately I've missed a couple and that has left me scratching my head and second guessing my self. I had fitted a Atec H3 Alock suppressor. So have shot a few groups to see what's going on. Tried 168 gr Hornady precision hunter, Winchester 150gr PowerPoint, Remington 150 gr corelock and others. Anyway I seam to be getting the first 2 shots touching or very close to then the next about 3/4 " away and then the next about another 3/4 " . So I have come to the conclusion that I just missed but my question to anyone else with a sako finnlight 2 in 308 do you have similar issues re barrel heating up so quickly? How many shot should you expect without a change in POI? Does fitting a suppressor cause changes to the barrel heating up?

Sounds like you need to sort out what ammo your suppressed rifle likes again. Its changes barrels harmonics and keeps heat.
Do three to four lots of 5 shots groups for each ammo, with a couple of minutes between shots to let the barrel and can cool down.

Give the sako 150 gameking a try mate its not fast but its accurate as in the 2 sako 308s I've used it in.

do you use the A-lok feature ie quickly detachable?
How does it shoot with no suppressor.

I think that you are probably right. I need to wait longer between shots. I'll start testing again.

Cheers for the heads up, probably makes sense to try sako ammo in a sako. Ive tried it in the 85 223 stainless varmint i have and wasn't that fussed, it shot about an inch.

Yeah got the Aloc. Bloody suppressor is hard to get off sometimes. I put a bit of high temp grease on the thread. Yes it is quick. I have not shot without the suppressor since buying the suppressor

1.5” at 100 yd is OK. Is it 100yd metre or paces or maybe 50 ?
I’d give the barrel a good clean including for copper, take off stock clean out oil, leaves etc re fit at 30-40 in.lb, check scope screws are OK 20 in.lb on the cross screw and 10-15 in.lb on the cap screws. (Or just do by hand). If youre shooting 1” on the 223 youve got technique and bench rest gear sorted. Fire a couple of warmer/ foulers first then load 5 in mag to minimise position change during shot series. Shoot without suppressor too preferably removing suppresor mount off the end of barrel if you can.

When you put the a loc on make sure it clocks to the same orientation each time. I.e. white writing on the bottom is what I do. I think there can be a change in poi if isn’t the same. I think the a lock interrupted thread can end up in 3 positions.

I shoot at a measured 100m as I'm trying a mil scope to see if it like it. Ive cleaned it pretty well but didn't think of using copper remover, I'll try it .had it all apart and retorqued everything using a wheelers fat wrench. Going to get some more ammo and give it another go this weekend. I'll take the suppressor off aswell and shoot a group. The Aloc barrel nut has red loctite on it so don't want to remove it.

I do the same but writing up it has three lugs or three positions that it can be put into. I've just always done it the one way. Have you found that occasionally it is a real pig to get off, like sticks on. I always take it off when I'm finished shooting.
