Just had this come into the shop at Hoki.
One owner. In 243. Barrel is mint. Contrail rings.

Original paperwork from 1968

Scope is a cheap ol Bushnell.
But rifle and rings in awesome condition for a 50 Yr old rifle.

What is something like this worth?

Its value as a collector's piece is close to 2k I believe, with bofors stamp

Does it have Bofors and or Rihimaki stamped on the barrel?

$1 reserve Auction on Trade Me be my advice then - that over a 10 day time frame will get him full value
Yes so you did note in post - me no have eye of Eagle - thought you knew that

At the end of the day "Its Worth" what someone is prepared to pay. Having said that, that recent Vixen 222 on tm sold for $1950 and I know the barrel was pretty sick, so on that basis you'd have to be looking at around $2000 surely.

A good Vixen will usually attract a wee bit more than a similar vintage and condition Forester.

Bought my Forester (59 quid 17/6) in 1967. All the oldies said I was mad. Others asked if it was made in Japan.
Tradesman's weekly pay at that time was 25 notes.

Within 10 years of that Sako brand was starting to get common.
