    Sako front iron sight screws

    Hi guys,

Just acquired a Sako (thanks Inglishill), and our good friends the couriers managed to remove the front sight in transit. The front sight mounting screws are no more, but fortunately the barrel seems to have survived (I'm guessing it's a little harder than the tiny screws).

Anyone got the faintest idea what size they are? They are seriously in pieces so nothing to even measure.

Not confident beretta Nz will exactly break their necks trying to help...

Take the pieces to our local blacks fasteners, hand them over and tell them you will buy new ones if they can tell you what they were....

4mmx0.5 ring a bell? It seems to measure just under 4mm on the bits that are left (thread)

Be surprised if blacks have anything that tiny, and they are really short too.

I think you will find they are M3.5 x 5.5mm long. Good luck.

Don't happen to know the pitch do you? Not sure if I'll have to clean up the holes a bit.

Oh, pretty sure they're not m3.5. The scope ring screws on optiloks are, and they are smaller than the sight holes.

Saw in a thread on the Sako forum a mention of M4 x .5 but that was for an L579. My L579 sights were sweated on though.

    So, could be M4 x .5 Fine, unlikely to be M4 x .7 Course.

If you give the model I can ask on the a sako forum.
