    Sako front sight

Anyone happen to know what size dovetail the front sight blades of a Sako A series would be?

Brownells have a selection of front sights for factory rifles

There may be some clues in the itemised specs attached to each brand specific sight

Checked that. I'm actually going to replace the factory ramp, as with the 18 inch barrel the factory ramp is too high, have had to file the factory blade *right* down, so will go with a lower ramp and a slim bead

Why has barrel length altered the sight height, open sights run parallel

who knows. anyway there's not enough elevation in the aperture to zero with a factory height front so I am modifying. Yay custom rifles!!! (nothing ever fucking works properly with them)

Pretty sure will be standard 3/8 dovetail

    Hopefully someone else can confirm

    Cheers

Bought a new, lower, Williams ramp & a couple of blades to replace the current ramp & bring it down a bit, question is now irrelevant for the cost of $44

Was gonna suggest Williams ramps, was lucky in my case and the lowest front bead sight was perfect height.

Hopefully holes in the right spots on the barell

    Cheers

Probably won't be; but drilling another hole won't be the end of the world

Coz it's mounted on a tapered surface. Shorter will be taller..
