SAKO LONG RANGE 338 Lapua QUESTIONS

Just came across one of these kind rifle, great looking gun and something I been thinking for long range target shooting, so. If anyone has held or shot with the rifle can give me some advise?
    Questions:
    - is the mag length enough to hold a round loaded "long" for the accuracy thing?
    - is the rifle overall good enough to call an "entry" level for LR shooting?
    - should I look in to any other model/maker in this caliber?

Attention!!! I am looking "exclusively" for this caliber.

    Thank you for you time

    Mac

Nah, this is the 85 long range rig in .338LM he's talking about. Also comes in 300WM.

    85 Long Range | SAKO

So I would say that yes, the mag will be too short for rounds loaded to the lands.
The corresponding issue if of course extracting an unfired round with the 75/85 ejector not allowing you to easily remove unfired round.
Not too keen on the incorporated muzzle brake, would prefer a removable unit, to swap between that and a suppressor.

They dont have to be near the lands to be accurate it is just another option.
Some of the loads i have done hav improved with bigger jumps.
My trg loads are mag lenghth and that is easy 1/2 moa

@andyanimal31, would your friend be interested in a swap of his bare rifle for a Tikka T3 Super Varmint in 7mm Rem Mag, DPT Suppressor, 20MOA EGW PICCATINY rail, Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16X44 "EBR" reticle and Weaver 6holes tactical rings?
Also a set of Hornady Full Length Dies
Please drop me a pm from here.

    Cheers

Yeah, the loads in my 75s are to fit the mag, still can get 0.26-0.28 MOA groups if I can do my job off the bench.
    Average at 0.5 MOA.
If you have minimal runout, then jump to the lands doesn't seem to be such a big issue.

If you are paying a lot, like over $6k then for myself I'd consider a custom action like a Barnard.

Well, TRG is my DREAM rifle in any model, my problem is, I can't afford $5k now imagine over $6k. Yes, I may be "dreaming".
I am looking for something I can affor and can "feed" it with my best(read it as ammunition).
Maybe in between a Savage 11/110 and the Sako LR i will dig myself in another "separation".

Cheers guys for all the info, I is making life very hard. LOL!

Ammo loaded with 300g EliteHunters at a just touch length fits in the magazine

And the accuracy is outstanding, excellent so far out to 1500yrds.

My TRG IS the most accurate off the shelf rifle I have ever brought but with the factory bipod, didn't shoot half as well off Harris or atlas. 285gn A-Maxs at 2750fps are deadly and fill within mag, also fitted a KRG folding stock the hole lot fits in a 1.1mtr tactical case easy to carry on the front of quad.
