Has any one seen or got any info on the new Sako Model 100 ?
Looks very expensive , i dont like it but thats me .
Strange. I had a dream last night about getting one of these and cutting the barrel to 16” and swiss cheesing every bit of it to make a light rifle.
More practically, I wonder if it is just one size action from 308 to 300WinMag or will it come in exact proportions like the 85 ?
A very spendy walking stick count me out!
I see the Sako Model 90 is replacing the 85 I hope they fixed that dam ejection problem of the 75 & 85 !
My configurations must have just worked as have had 7 rm 85 finnlight and carbonlight .260 85 carbonlight .270 85 barvarian 6 5x55 85 hunter and 270wsm 75 finnlight all worked well the 75 was the worst the 85s were brilliant
If you ask me they have missed the mark for kiwi hunters. Still heavy and spendy.
Will interested to see if the carbon light has changed
Are you referring to 100 or 90??
90 is the same weight range as 85 and in nz we have been able to maintain the same price.
Carbonlight (now called Peak) starts at 2.6kg and the changes are as follows:
New bolt with improved extraction/ejection
New trigger unit
Built in pic rail
New stock (no more dura touch) it feels like a very light sand paper impregnated into it
I was looking at the 100
90 looking better
Guess I just like tikkas haha
Yep the 100 is a very specialised rifle that has been made for the European market. Over there some countries limit the number of rifles they are allowed to own, hence why multi barrel rifles are so popular. Downside is that it requires more metal in the mounting surfaces etc, which adds to the weight. However most of the hunting over there is from tree stands and vehicles, so they don’t worry too much about the weight side of it.
They are beautifully engineered guns and we do have a lot of pre orders here in NZ. The things just need to turn up!!!
Yeah my 85 for 270 win (308 win is ok though) has ejection issue since I mounted both scopes with X Low Optilock.
I heard mounting higher ring might resolve the 270 issue. Anyone knows which height is enough to prevent 270 brass hitting the scope?
Hope 100 and 90 resolve this issue
