    Attach some beefy rings and scope... something sturdy like a nightforce and get an assistant to hold it muzzle up with the butt on the ground.
    A couple of good swings of a bit of 4x2 about 1200 long down onto the objective bell of the scope should pop that rail off no problems

    I take it you are tapping it towards the recoil pad not the muzzle?

    A short bit of alloy flat bar used as a punch will let you give it a decent twat without denting stuff.
