Thread: Sako rail removal

    Use decent brass drift and punch it up thru the back of the mag well. Punching it fwd or backwards is against the most resistance.

    On the Sako they are driven onto tapered dovetails not mounted to a round action top.
    Punching up from bottom will destroy the rail and possibly the action also!

    Doh, I should have looked closer. Assumed it was an A7. Should have taken more notice of post #15 as well. And ever dumber considering I have a Forester and a 75 with tapered dovetails.
    That being the case WTF did the gunsmith loctite it. Absolutely no need.

    Buzzman is a confirimed Sako slut and as such well above an A7
