    Sako rings

    A question for Sako owners.
Are genuine Sako mounts standard across the range?
I have an old A1 and it has steel rings, the rear one from memory has a wee slot in it to mount into the reciever. They look to be original to the rifle.

I am thinking of changing the scope over on it to a 30mm tube. What is the best route to follow ? I have heard of opti locs and things but not sure what is best.

I run optilok in both 1" & 30mm on the A1 actions, they have the recoil stud from memory. I also have light weight Talleys as well on one, which are nice. I have a set of either Burris or Leupold medium height 30mm kicking around somewhere if you are keen.

Can you get the Talleys for the 75/85 ? looked on website a while back but they only did the A7 which is just barely a Sako.?

I got mine yonks ago. Tapered dovetail, suits all. They split vertically in two pieces and clamp together on dovetail & scope at same time.

@Mathias thanks for the info, and the offer too. I need to give it some more thought though as it looks like the objective will sit over the rear sight and may need to be removed ...... something i am not keen to do.
