Thought I was on to a bargain there for a second @Tahr.

    A Sako for $20 lol.

They are nice rifles with plenty of good features by the looks.

We have a couple of sample guns here in the country. 1 x Hunting and 1x Precision model. They shoot fantastically, 0.3" with factory Sako Ammo at 100m shot in a hurry.
We are expecting them Q4, however things are up in the air with production etc overseas. Our models are fluted and cerakoted with the hunter (thumbhole stock) having a single stage trigger and the Precision having a double stage.
    Hunter - $3399
    Precision - $3899

What's the build quality like? How solid is the lockup on the detachable stock? And how long is the rifle with the rear of the stock removed (can you fit it inside a backpack?)

Very very solid lock up. No movement and has also been drop and impacted tested extensively. Have not had a chance to measure the length with the stock off (im in lock down in chch and the guns are in AKL) would be something we could check down the track. Off the top of my head i would guess the 20" models would be fine, but would want to check the 24" ones.

Im reallly trying hard to think of a reason I NEED one of these !

Essentially it is a heavy precision rifle chassis type design. The move to takedown stock and to picatinny rail are both good. Whethher it would be betteR for heavy duty hunting than the grey or carbon wolf would be up for debate. Its only a fraction of the price of the TRG M10. Would be best in 65PRC.

Do we know if the action is the same ss the 85 or is it new ?

Shit it looks like a nice bit of kit!. I looked on the Sako site but could not find what it's weight was. I was curious what it was compared to A Finnlight.
..And I see it is available in 6.5 PRC. So I wonder then if Tikka will be releasing rifles in the calibre as well soon?.....

I setup this S20 precision the other day with a Steiner T5xi 5-25 scope, Steiner T-series 34mm rings, and an Atlas bipod. Came together pretty well. Its now off with NZHunter
