Hi I’m in 2 minds about a sako, picked up a nice sako 75 308 for my daughter yesterday but wondering if I should have got her a tikka?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e9e1806395.jpg

Better still a Howa
How much do you want for it
I prefer the lighter weight and price of the Tikka.
Something about a Sako. They're just nicer I reckon.
No more accurate. Their quality control and finish is 1st class.
Never had any issues with a Sako.

Does she like magazine loading or top loading, I do miss top loading when I had a Sako.
Nice condition, I find the 75 timber stocks too clubby in the hand. The 75 synthetic and tikka’s fit is better for a smaller person and better pistol grip for smaller hand, but still a nice outfit.

Anyone would be extremely lucky to have that as their rifle. With youth type loads the recoil won’t become a problem and it will still kill like gods hammer

when she reads old Philip Holden books she will think Dad is the Man for buying her a sako instead of a soulless Tikka
Sako for first Rifle? Do you want to Adopt me:D
A very small annoyance to me in regards to Sako’s was always the tapered dovetail mounting system.
Very good rings etc are available to accommodate that setup , but when a manufacturer uses a proprietary type mount ( Ruger is another ) it puts me off a bit .
Stupid reason to be hesitant and unwilling to purchase I know , but for some reason it is a consideration that goes through my mind .
Tikka’s “ one sized action to rule them all “ is another thorn in my sock, but for some reason I can live with it easier.
For full disclosure - I own four Tikka’s and no Sako’s :)
Sako all day Buzz. I’ve got quite a useful 260 carbonlight. Remember it?
another vote for sako, i hate with a passion the tikka magazines.
Thankfully they have finally changed it with the 90

How come the budget setup Brads? :P
Buy the tikka too. Win win.
Personally, I prefer the stock shape of the T3 and T3x to Sakos. The thinner pistol grip suits me better.
@MD. My Tikkas are definitely not "soulless". Both are personalized and very charismatic.
The rubber Sako use for recoil pads seems to intensify, not reduce, the recoil.
I like the Sako stock for of hand shooting - prone, not so much.
I'd prefer a Tikka.
Have you thought of asking her?
If she's anything like you @buzzmann ,it won't matter . She'll change it to something else anyway [emoji6]

Nice rifle Buzman, I bought a sako 75 for my daughter and she would always get me to carry it while she carried my tikka. Sako is great until you have to carry for long hunts. I recently bought a sako 85 and am about to build a carbon stock for it. Should be the ticket. My daughter now has a Tikka LSA55 that I did a carbon stock and barrel for. Almost finished it. Will post pics when I’m done
I have 3 Sako’s and 2 Tikka’s all do the job nicely
