    Savage A17 17hmr semi-auto GGrrrr....

Do other people have trouble with these not reloading when they get dirty. I seem to have to clean mine about every 30 shots or so. Is it common and what can be done about it?
It's very accurate but not charging is bloody annoying. Otherwise they are great little things.

have had 2 of them and they are very picky with the grease you use . they recommend mpro 7 grease ,which is not available in nz . think from memory i used a synthetic grease that is used in fishing reels and it was pretty good or the napiar grease for shot guns

Scrub the barrel really good in the chamber area and just ahead of it
They are super prone to building up a ring of fouling and copper just
In front of the chamber that can make them hard to chamber
    Or cause crazy over pressure

I service a couple of them for some pest control boys and every 2 month
Pull the barrel out stick it on the sonic cleaner to get the worst of it out
Then scrub that area with jb paste but they are running through few thousand rounds
    In that time

Magnum research 17hmr rifles use to come with a 90° 17 cal bush that you would
Lock the bolt back and scrub it then pull the bore snake that was supplied with the rifle
    through

If it is suppressed a bigger capacity can that will lower the pressure and stop the crap
Being sucked back into the barrel can help
We used to adapt suppressors with a tiny wee 17 cal muzzle brake that would thread into the back
After tapping them out and it would reduce the amount of burnt powder that would
Clog the actions up being sucked back down the barrel
