As said the Savage is 1:9, some of them stabilise the 75 Amax for longer range antics but mine doesn't like them. The 75 BTHP and 77 SMK are both shorter than the Amax and stabilise a bit easier but I haven't tried them in mine.

Yeah no problem. Plenty of people using 50gr in Savages with good results. Even the 40gr I suspect would be ok.Quote:

Interesting... Maybe cause I had never used one before but I borrowed a savage in the states for coyotes and I hated the accu trigger. 20+ rounds and just couldn't get used to it.. I reckon that unless I had it in all my rifles I would struggle. But that's just my opinion
I've got the savage weather warrior in .270 and have got no complaints at all. Really good rifles once your past the axis etc

Which ever feels the best for you as they are both in the same class for reliability. You pays your money you takes your chances.
