Savage Lightweight Hunter
-
Yes. I have one in .223.
Can't fault it for value. Accurate, light and safe. Shoots .5moa with 55 grn Barnes and 69 grn Targex.
You are welcome to have a lend to try it if you want.

Didn't Tahr have one of these at some stage.

My brother has one, in .223 also. Really nice wee rifle, can't really fault it.
I heard just yesterday a rumour that they were developing a syn/ss version specifically for the NZ market.. would make me very happy if true.
Does have a skinny wee barrel, so not really suitable for high-volume shooting

p.s. I got mine from Giles in Taihape and he did a great deal. About 3 years ago.
Its one of the few rifles I will always hang onto. It can go to the Grandkids.

So .223, do they do other calibre's?

Although availability of some may be an issue in NZ..

260 Rem in such a lightweight would be a cool rifle.

Is the length of pull on these rifles standard? Around the 13.5" or so? Does anyone know?

It's on the Savage web site.
I'm 5'10" and it fits me fine. I far prefer shorter to too long, which catch as you bring them to your shoulder.
-
Thanks Tahr, I can see the overall length of the rifle, but I can't see the length of pull.
-
I've fired a few shots thru one, found stock a bit short for my liking. Sweet little rifle though, doesn't look cheap and nasty, grouped very well.

Just pulled my brother's lightweight out of the safe to measure up for you. LOP is 345mm (13.5") approx, same as my 700 SPS and Savage Weather Warrior. Fore-end of the stock is 30-40mm shorter than the SPS
