Thread: Scope for a .22 mag

Had a play with my .22 mag today. Had been cleaned before firing, my rest wasn't steady as but was to be repeatable, 3 shot groups . 1st group sweet i'll move it across and down, 2nd group oops too far( i'm sure I counted right though) go back and down a little, group 3 had a couple of flyers( I knew I had pulled them) i'll just go up a tad (ie 2 clicks then shoot.......up by 6 inches......WTF ????? AS I said the shooting position not the most stable akin to what you would get in the field but repeatable, i'm guessing scope internal problem (nikko stirling 3-9 x 32 or 40) scope not being banged around as far as I know but if a problem.... what to replace with???? Ideas anyone?? I'd be looking at mid range type of scope $3-400 ish.

I had a Nikko Nighteater 3-9x42 on mine when I had it and it was fine. Now on the 223, still no problems.

Any of the mid range 3-9s should be fine - Weaver v9, Leupy VX1, Bushnell, Vortex Diamondback etc.

just had a squizzy thru tardme for some ideas and seems like a reasonable selection......now just need to sell the gun to get the $$$$$$ for a scope......
