    Scope for a .223

    Good afternoon all.
I am pretty close to putting the cash down on a .223 and was looking for some advise on a scope.
I'll be using it in various environments, shooting feral deer on farms, public land NI wallaby and some 'sporting rifle' competitions, probably not bush bashing with it though.
TBH, I doubt I'll be shooting out beyond 300m, but lets say 400m in near perfect conditions on wallaby and hare, deer probably sub 300m

I think I want a 50mm objective lens but am not committed to this.
Just wondering if a 4-12 magnification would be enough, or would going to say 18x with parallax be a better idea?

    Thanks

    IMaca
