    Scope adjustments

There have been many comments on the forum discussing scopes not holding zero; friction vs click dials; expensive vs cheap precision etc etc. Here is a very worthwhile series of comments from a top shooter explaining the whys and wherefor's of these issues.

Good informative video. One of these "It is so obvious, why didn't I figure it out on my own" things.

There are plenty of tracking tests showing precise and repeatable scopes. Although they generally focus on verifying the tracking vs unit of measure, grabbing handfuls of clicks at time. But, when they do show individual clicks you also see the reticle track an according amount.
The flaw I see in his assessment is using the rifle to shoot paper to verify his scopes tracking and opinion. There is far too much human element than if checked on a purpose built jig against a calibrated target. His videos are normally more data driven which is a little surprising.
Yes the technique works and will likely hide issues with some scopes, but there is plenty of evidence to support that you also get what you pay for at the end of the day.
A video of a brand x scope mounted on a test mount and tracking poorly against a calibrated target at a known range would be as worthwhile as seeing the alpha glass videos.
