I have butler creeks on one of my rifles, they're ok, but I bit fragile if they get caught and would be a pain in thick bush.

Quite like the neoprene cover that came on my VX3. Tend to keep it on until ready if I'm hunting longer ranges and only takes a second or two to slip off as well as protecting the whole scope.
If I'm onto animals, I just put it in my pocket.

Not overly keen on the rubber bikini style ones that I have on my nightforce and another Leupy but they keep the lenses dry and do what they need to do.

    Personal preference I suppose!

What scope(s) do you have Munsey?

If Leupold, then you need the Alumina caps. Depending what others, the Tenebraex are hard to go past.

The Alumina caps are brilliant for the Leupolds, they really make the scopes fantastic to use.

I know you like em Greg and by all accounts they are one of the best caps but i didn't like mine.

Magnets fell out, kept rotating round and jamming bolt.
Always closed when should be opened and always opened when should be closed.

Even when closed lenses still got wet .

I took them off and won't be fitting any more scope caps of any kind on a hunting rig .

I'm still can't really understand how that one of mine got down in the bolt but it did save us a BIG carry out

    It won't be happening again.

Yep the magnets can come out, so do the O-rings, probably why your lens got wet ?

Yep I do love them, have them on all my Leupies

I'm thinking of getting some neoprene ones from gunworks for mine; seem similar to the Leupolds. And take to some lenses with rain-x. Scopes are nothing fancy so not a lot to lose.

Happened to mine ALL THE TIME.

Maybe Im just used to leaves and water etc on my lenses but i don't find it to much of an issue in bush.

MadJon scolded me for cleaning the vx6s lenses with some dunny paper and i replied if it can't handle that then its good for Fuck all.

Yes but yours was screwed into what was left of the eyepiece once the rubber was peeled off....

I just use the bikini lens cover, bit more inconvenient but you can't argue with the protection from dust, moisture and knocks to some extent it offers.
