Scope change on my .308. Input welcome.

Evening all, I have a 6.5 Creedmoor with the Nikko Sterling Diamond LR 6 - 24x50.

.308 has a Pulsar digisite ultra N355. (night vision, not thermal).
Both rifles are Tikka tx3 and the 308 is slightly lighter than the Creedmoor which makes carrying easier.
I'm tempted to use the 308 more, The area I focus on is West Coast bush, flat ground with open areas, clearings etc. I have knocked a deer over with the CM.

I'm considering removing the night vision from the 308 and fitting something else. I'd prefer to hunt early morning or just on dark....and not at midnight or 3am with a nv on a 308.

I'm open to knowledge and good advice. TBH I didn't set up these rifles, my late brother in law did and he shot plenty of deer with them over the years.
Also the Pulsar digisight is a nightmare to operate or set up.

I have a Vixen 3-12 on my 308. Great scooe for the money but there is probably better low light performance available if you have a bit more budget. Swaro 2-10 would probably be ideal.

    Leupold VX-3 HD 2-10 x 42 with alumina caps on the 308

Easy to use in all situations and light with a great field of view. Priced right as well

The answer lies in the budget.

I can recommend the Swarovski Z5i 2.4x12 great glass, light, can dial out if you want and having the illumination on low at first and last light is a real help.

Or go more simple a Leupold 2x7 they type of Leupold doesn't matter to me. Never had really top end scopes and the lower end haven't let me down. Bottom end of 2 or 3x is ideal in the bush and 7 or 9x is more than enough for the occasional 2_300yard shot that comes up. You already have the open country longer range but sorted.

I will say be careful of the quality of optic you buy. Its nearly impossible to go back to inferior glass.
