I currently have an older VX1 2-7x32 on my .375. It find it lightweight, plenty of eye relief and easily does out to 300m, which is the distance I'm comfortable with.
Previously wore a 2.5-10, but I felt it was too "bulky".
Standard Duplex is fine enough for precise longer shots, and easy enough to do close up two-eyes-open shooting.
And to add to that I think from memory format one of the Africa hunting forum I'm on, the loopy 2.5-8x36 is a very popular scope for that sort of thing
