    Scope eye bell measurements

I need to upgrade the scope on mrs 7x57 it needs an eye bell dia of 41mm or less to clear bolt yes i could grind it and bend it but id rather get a scope that fits if im changing it anyway its mainly a bush gun but she uses it at deer stalkers on targets as well its got a 1x5 tasco on it at the moment which is fine for close bush work but eyesights not the best and cant see the targets properly at 100 or further so whats the options with that size eye bell cheers

Isn't 41mm a huge eye bell? I've never measured my eye bell-end (lol)

    Edit:
Just had a google and the VX1 3-9x40 you asked about in the for sale section has a 40.6mm eye piece diameter - Fairly safe to assume that will be the largest diameter of the eye bell. I bought that particular scope as a cheap option for my brother in-law. If he doesn't want it I will happily let you have it for what I paid.

Are you referring to the outside diameter of the bell? Also, have you looked at scout scopes?

If the bolts hitting the scope and you don't want to modify it look at a scout scope.

    Example:

Think outside box. Have you considered using rings with offset mount? No problem with the bolt clearing any scope size then - better, you can even cycle it with eye on target!

Leupold vx2 2-7x33 40.6mm. Leupold vx3i 2.5-8x36 39.6mm. Just measured. As far as I know the various standard VX1/2/3 etc (insert Roman numerals as appropriate) are all about the same. The exceptions are the ultralight EFR VX II (or VX2) 3-9x33 and I think also 2-7x28? My VXII 3-9x33 EFR has a 34.7mm OD eyepiece. Good when you need extra clearance. I haven't had hands on a VX Freedom 3-9x33 but it looks like a slim eyepiece on that one too.

VX freedom 3-9x40 is 39.5mm at the very back (measured it for a cover and entered measurement in my phone).
    I have a VX1 2-7x33 I could measure if needed

With the angled mounts you could mount two scopes, one on the left and one on the right!
