Scope opinion or recommendations

Looking at a new scope narrowed it down to a vortex hd lht 3-15x42 or the helix hdlr 2-16x50 and thoughts or opinions on the 2


I know most will say vx5 but I want mils/mils illumination bdc and dial, I have a delta titanium 4-24 but that is coming off the 223 and going onto the 7mmrm

Another Titanium......maybe 2.5-15x50?

I saw a vid on youtube the other day, South African guy shooting a helix on 260rem and "deleting geese" out to 500 with ease. Looked like a good bit of kit.

I still haven't caught up with either metric or dialing scopes, so couldn't really comment.

Looked at them are they available in mrad

Unfortunately only the 4-24x50 and the 1.5-9x45 are available in Mrad

I have the Vortex and I'm pretty happy with it. I was looking for a lightish scope with MRAD and mid range magnification. It works well on my MPR. The farthest I have shot it is 880m it did OK but almost I maxed it out dialing to that range. I think its set up more for hunting than long range also only the center dot is illuminated, not the whole reticle.

I also have the Helix 6-24x50 while its their cheapest scope its very nice. I shot that out to a 1000 yds with no problems. The new 2-16 scopes look pretty decent just heavy, they are probably better suited to LR than the Vortex.

Thanks 880m will be more then enough for the 223 it's used mainly for homekills but does a bit of pest control. How is the vortex in low light on par with most

It's the nicest scope I have so I would say its above average. I shot it out to about 500m at dusk and didn't notice any issues.
