    Scope recommendation

Just because I'm very bored at work, recommend me a scope.

I'm not buying right now, so kind offers to sell me something probably won't go anywhere

It's for my 22LR. I've always been fussy about rimfire scopes (targets are smaller!), admittedly, these are wants rather than needs if a distinction exists.

    - Reasonable quality with weather and fog proofing, not cheap crap (i.e. VX-Freedom level and above, would like to keep price under $1K)
    - Ideally 1 inch tube, but could compromise
    - Maximum magnification 12 - 16x
    - Non-dialling/non-exposed turrets
    - BDC reticle
    - AO

I've always had Leupold scopes, but don't think anything in their current range fits the bill, so will stay open minded about brand.

Vixen 4-16x. And you will have plenty of change.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Hawke scopes, best known as air rifle Scopes do a very very good job as a rifle scope and have the features you're after.

I have 2. A 3-12x on my 10/22 and a 4-16x on my 17HMR. Very happy with them for the work they do. Quite a fine reticle so good for precision small targets. Mine are standard duplex and mil dot reticles. Also very light weight.

I think Tracy do a 4-14x dedicated rimfire scope with hash marks for .22 HV ammo.

On my high grade .22LR outfits for targets it’s 6.5-20 or 6-18 x leupolds or similiar. Hunting 3-9x vx3 efr.

I've got one on my EM-332 and for the money it's the ducks nuts. @Marty Henry - the Vixen replaced a Hawke, and I have no regrets.
