For those old enough to remember Graham Henry’s writings in Rod & Rifle magazine years ago , then you may remember a story he told of the inexperienced guy in the gunshop procrastinating over which scope to buy . The cheap $100 scope or the expensive/quality $500 one .
The salesman started to get annoyed at the indecisive buyer and said “ Look the cheap one will cost you $600 and the expensive one $500 , so hurry up and make a decision “
The customer looked confused and said “that doesn’t sound right, how come the cheap one costs more “
“Well the cheap one will cost you $100 now and then another $500 in a months time when you come back for the expensive one “

It’s fair enough to say that the average cheap rimfire doesn’t deserve or need an expensive scope , is your new 22mag an average cheap rimfire?
FALL IN LOVE WITH THE NUMBERS , NOT THE IDEA

Ah , no @Ground Control , as you know .... About as far from cheap and ordinary as it gets.....
The rolls royce of rimfires was used to describe it.

The only leupy that does anything for me is nigh on $1300 odd new though.... The vx3 with side focus and illuminated , assuming I can find one with a bdc style reticle.
The vixen seems to have a good reputation and all it's missing is illumination but I have never really had any issues without a pretty little light before so think I could live without it.
And at $520 new the vixen sounds pretty good for the money...
Which is something I am suddenly short of... thanks to the roller parked in the safe
