4-14 x 56 is not a hunting scope so the zeiss wins by default (if you're talking the x 42)

I can see your dilemma - all of the above are great scopes.

Pick them all up and twist the turrets - the crispness of the clicks will tell you the winner

56mm objective.... And being a nightforce it will be heavy and bulky. There's more suitable options.

My min is as close as I get to any deer and 100 yds for target and Max at the moment is 3-400 yds as I have a crappy nikko Stirling 3-9x40 on a 243 but in the near future I will be buying a rifle for hunting and target maybe 260 or 6.5x55 or 300wsm. So I kind of want an all rounder scope I can hunt with in the roar but still shoot targets out to 800 yds possibly

I can't decide between 42 or 50 mm I like the more light gathering from 50 but its 6 oz heavier than the 42

42 will be more than sufficient.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

and this is your problem, you want an all rounder, deer in the bush and then targets out to 800. theres a saying, "jack of all trades, master of none"
what im saying is your going to have to compromise on something, either too much magnification in the bush or wanting more at 800 yards.
the best you could hope for is probably 6-24, which maybe too much in the bush but better at targets.
if I was you I would have too scopes,(and two rifles) your 3-9 on a .243 in bush, and maybe the 6-24 or more on your 300.

I use a 4.5x14-40 vx3 cds and I use it as a bush scope and a target scope I turn the power down in the bush and if I'm shooting an animal on another face I've got the scope to do it.it also works fine out to 1000 on steel provided I hit the target I believe its one of the best all round Scopes going and its a loupold.it dose everything I ask of it hasn't let me down yet.

+1 I have several on various calibres & have shot successfully out past 1000 with them no problem, even the 25mm tube non parallax adjustment ones

Good scope for the money, also shot steel to 1000m and used as an all round hunting scope.
Dials repeatably, holds zero and nice and light.

Exactly what he said except I'm shooting with a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42. It does everything I could ask for in a scope and has made my Weaver Super Slam 3-15x42 redundant (now on the old man's rifle).
