From my very limited knowledge the differences were mainly down to action length. L461 being short action, 222, 223 etc, whereas L61R (I have one of these) was the long action, 30-06 for example. But why would the short action tend to fetch higher prices? I don't mean to hijack the thread
They were one of the first small actions available.much lighter n more accurate than the run of the mill rifles in common usage at the time
