Selling AR15, Can it be sold as A-cat?

    Hi guys,

If I was to sell an AR15 with the standard pistol grip that was A category, can I sell it to someone on an A-cat lisence still up to the end of the "grace" period? If not I will need to change the stock and sell it as an A or otherwise sell it as an E but I do not have have an E-cat lisence? If anyone could put me straight, much appreciated.

If you remove the grip you can sell it as an A-cat, even after the 'grace' period.

Ive been told, that why you do have until the end of the "grace period" to remove the pistol grip and replace it with an "a cat" stock, If you sell it as it is at the moment with the P grip it is classed as an E cat ( so must only be sold to someone with an e cat licence ) & yes it is a pain in the arse
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

    Nice

How much are you wanting for your AR15?

How is the accuracy of your AR15?

Does it come with any extras or optics?

Delta sector has a really good range of AR's to choose from.

I have been looking at the Colt Competition CRE and The Rock River Arms ATH but am open to considering other brands/models, New or Second hand.

    Cheers
    Pete

It shoots pretty well, to be honest I've only ever had a red dot sight on it so I can't tell you how it actually groups but it shoots ten or so shots into a couple inches with the red dot on it. That is using the Hornady training ammo which I have a hundred or so to go with it but it shot the American eagle better.
It'll have a five shot mag,a red dot sight, some ammunition and the hard case for it. The mag might need some new coil spring put in. I leant it to a friend and he decided the five shot mag could hold more if he cut the mag spring..... Which just made it jam up on the last round. I put more in it but I can't remember if this fixed it. It's been a long time since I have used it.

    Looking for $1850 plus postage.

    Thanks guys

I'm going to use the AR for Goat culling and maybe some pissing around on the range.

There's talk around here about organising some 3 gun shoots. Not sure if this will happen or not.

Maybe shorter and lighter is better, but I would like to be able to take those 200-300m shots if they present themselves and would also like to use the heavier weight projectiles in the 60gr-70gr range.

The Coyote is listed at 7lbs with a 16" chrome/moly 1in8 twist barrel and the ATH is 7.7lbs with an Heavy Match Stainless 18" 1in9 twist barrel.

    Lots to think about.

    Tahr-Bound

Did your friend make any other modifications to this rifle?

    How often does it jam?

What's the model red dot sight?

    Cheers
    Pete

My 16inch barreled RRA Actioned wee beastie will do .5inch groups with Federal Fusion Factory Ammo. Can hit plates further than 300 easy. Although the barrel is not a factory RRA one. They usually use Wilson barrels. My old RRA Varminter would do better groups even once I had the barrel re-profiled to a super lightweight one. That's a pretty good price for that. I would be on it but I have too many ARs now and I already sold 3 of em

Sub standad reloading is the only cause of any jams in all mine AR's

No, just cut the mag spring. After it was cut it took about seven or eight in the mag but jammed the last round every time. I should mount a scope on it and check for accuracy and mag function this week.
The red dot is a cheapy Nikko Stirling.

Just pull the spring out and stretch it a bit if it's still doing it. Guessing if it ever feeds the last round the the last shot hold open fails to function?

And only went from 5 to 7 rounds if a cat for any spies watching
