Selling a Colt AR15, what to do?

I'm going to sell my Colt AR15 but couple queries if anyone can please help. It is a Government A2 model in mint condition. I replaced the receiver with a RRA flattop to modernise it and barrel is 18".

What's a fair price to ask for it?
Do guns sell more attractively as E cat or A cat (it is currently E)?
Should I return it to original configuration (ie Colt carry handle receiver as a collector rifle or sell as is as a shooter)?
Any reputable dealers who sell on behalf?

A couple of pics would help tell a story...
My guess would be that the original A2 upper would be a nice to have, as good shooting AR's are plentiful on the market, but not old school A2's.
A-cat has a bigger market, but E-cat A2 upper is more niche and could be in many want lists...

A proper A2 upper us very desirable, less so if the barrel has been shortened. Pics?

I would keep it E cat until I sold it and change it to A if needed by the new owner. I would sell it as is but with the original parts. ARs normally start at about $1500.

    Thanks. Here are pics.

I just need indication for selling it right price without robbing someone!

The KAC rail and scope etc haven't been taken off yet...

Thanks for couple of PM's but as soon as I work it out it's to be listed. But welcome early PM'S for trade with WW2 firearms btw.

How come the barrel was shortend? I would be really keen on an upper like that. What kind of WWII firearm are you after?

Barrel is shortened alike a DMR as what the rifle was to replicate (too long with suppressor).

If you have one or two decent ww2 German pistols, game on!

Still seeking an estimate please of price...this is a rare Govt model, not the more common sporter.

I dunno 1500? It isn't worth much now with the barrel shortened - doesn't comply with the service rifle match code.

Carvells had a mint Colt A2 20" HBAR complete with a Colt 4x20 optic in their November auction. It got passed in at $1750, I think the reserve was around $2000 (but not 100% certain on that)
