Hello fellow forum members!
I have decided to buy a semi-automatic rifle for the next hunting season. I'm going to hunt mainly wild boar, deer, fallow deer, and roe deer. I am considering between Benelli Argo and Merkel SR1, both in 308WIN caliber.
For the chosen semi-automatic I was thinking about a Delta MultiDot HD 36 collimator. The set would be used strictly only for group hunting.
I would appreciate your help in choosing and your opinions.

Welcome, no personal experience with those types you’ve listed.
Semi automatics were recently prohibited here in New Zealand and everyone is understandably still very sore about it.

Until recently semi-autos were legally used and popular in NZ. Perhaps he is asking a knowledgable base a legitimate question. I personally know a lot of hunters who used semi's even though not my cup of tea.
I note that Horst mentions group hunt by which I assume he means a driven game hunt. In these hunts the game is on the move and not dawdling either. For these a fast second shot would be an advantage so semi auto rifles would be an advantage.Quote:
