Sand, rice etc. I use a wheat bag but I am sure there is better things to use
sand and rice, I was going to make a lightweight rear bag for field use filled with plastci bbs but havent got around to it yet so cant tell you how it worked....yet...
Just Normal sand. West Coast black sand ok? Do you line the bag with plastic or anything?
Anything from the coast seems to be constantly wet and not very stable but the sand might be ok.
I got some from the local sandblaster
Rice is OK as long as it does'nt get wet, then it's stuffed :XD:
For a front bag just use a bag of cat litter :pacman:
I filled a bucket with nice clean Coromandel (east coast) white sand. Put a hose in the bottom of another bucket and filled with the sand. Let the hose run through it for a couple of hours or so, shaking it now and then to get any debri/salt out. Left it to dry for a couple of days and filled the bags with it. Good as gold. Didn't use anything to line the bags. My grandson poured the remains into the dogs' water bucket to make sand bombs...bloody kids.
Hi Normie, Foundry sand is what you want heavier and finer than river sand, I will drop some over to Leathel for you, either late this week or early next.
Ring up Convex Plastics and get some polypropylene regrind. Lightweight means you can take it in your daybag with you and actually use it in the field!
It depends on what weight you want them.
Light weight use rice ... or a rice sand mix.
Medium weight bag use sand
Heavy weight use #7shot

Pete
Polypro is a light weight plastic.
Regrind is also very slippery and your bag may move about a fair bit.
The famous pillow in action... :D
