    go and find a HOWA 1500 and try it for size....pretty hard to beat at the price for a new rifle....

    My mate has one. Liked it more than the Tikka in terms of ergonomics, but if I go bolt action, I want something lighter.

    Humpers and Fisters and Gun Shitty must be the two dearest pleaces to buy ammo and reloading components! You would think with their nationwide network and buying power the would be able to offee the best prices! Instead I have found the small independent dealers to look after their customers and offer the sharpest prices.

    This, the Howa 1500 Short Action is dollar for dollar the best made action.

    Even better value secondhand if you can find one which hasn't been ridden hard (most will be, not a bad thing so long as no rust or rooted barrel).
