    Short actions

Couldn't help but notice on some other forums that every one bleats on about short actions so a question for you guys that have been keeping upto date with anything firearm related over the years.

In what year did having a short action become then "in" thing?

Probably the year you graduated from the 22 to the 303 and in your excitement to fire another round didn't pull the bolt back far enough to eject and chamber the next

How's that? All R93"s are extra long actions with length of pull only dictated by magazine.
Or is wanting either equally bad?

Never been a follower of fashion or yearned for the latest "In" thing Toby.

In fact the least fashionable an item becomes the more interested I get.

That said I don't believe short actions have ever been described as the latest need to have "In" thing but I could be wrong.

    Cheers

The Blaser has the shortest closed action of any bolt action, giving, with identical length barrels, the most compact rifle

It's also faster than a traditional turnbolt which is the 2nd of the 4 most commonly cited reasons for wanting a short action

It's heavier which is the opposite of the 3rd (short action is lighter!!), 4th is the fairly theoretical advantage in a hunting rifle of "stiffness"

I got 3 soon to be 4 cals on one chassis, making ergonomics the same within reason.
All cals shoot better than I can.
Can mix an match optics if you have to.
    Guns safe is never cluttered.
Never had a drama starting any projectile choice at the lands.
    All for around 7K.
What would 4 Tikkas or remmys cost with dedicated optics?
