I just shortened a boyds forestock and it was alot softer than I expected... anyhow took half an hour of sanding to square it back up after I shot through it with unexpectedly no resistance using a jigsaw because I was too lazy to set the the SCMS.

Thats exactly what I want to avoid.Assuming I get a 90* cut,would a bandsaw be better than a circular saw?
