That’s pretty shocking. What the hell did they expect?

I remember the Sika Show had similar problems but they had a central stand that did eftpos/visa transactions on behalf of some businesses.

I don't have a EFTPOS machine but can take payment through my website or Trademe afterpay from a phone or tablet which is what I did quite a few times yesterday.
With payment express and trademe facilities there isnt really an excuse not to make it available to clients.

Ps. I must admit Im new to TM afterpay so not 100% certain of the ramifications although it does incur a 4.95% fee to use plus TM success fees so its expensive and only up to $1200 so not suitable for higher value items.

I guess you are then hamstrung by cash only buyers unless people want to tick up hefty fees on their CC by transferring funds to their everyday account/paying online. Haven’t used TM after pay though... guessing that takes CC? Wonder if this was a move to reduce the amount of firearms sales, or just piss poor planning on behalf of the organisers?
Easiest way (as you mentioned) would be to have a tablet on hand with a “direct payment” option set up for event sales on your web page. You quote the customer, they select direct payment with a reference number and pay you directly online. No middle man fee’s and the ability for the customer to be able to use CC for payment. Win/Win.

Direct payment through payment express using CC. Same as eftpos.
