Don't have an issue with spending more that it's worth as it's sentimental and has family hand-me-down valve, One son may get my Dad's Sav 99 the other his one. That one of shift14's has come up beautifully. Not sure I want it that flash but the wood alone justifies spending some money on it.
This one is in mechanically sound condition, the bore looks clean and shiny except just past where the end of the shell would sit. I would assume the barrels were browned not blued. They do look quite thin out at the muzzle end.
It would be nice to be able to get it cleared as safe to use, I'm hoping it's not just black powder so getting it dated would be nice. All the 1920's and later guns I see on line from Leech and sons are internal hammers.
