To be fair, for someone that just wants a plain hunting rifle to shoot deer out to 300 odd yard on occasion, there is nothing wrong with the Hogue.

They aren't that terrible really. As much as I wanted the Alpine rifle I simply didn't have the budget for it when getting back into shooting. So I stiffened the foreend and bedded the action with the kits from Ballistics Research.

As @R93 said at the start - they really shoot! Not just for an inexpensive rifle either. The first day I shot mine I put 4 rounds through one ragged hole. To say I was impressed is an understatement.
