Is your stock an earlier one than your brothers?
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Im not sure but im going to guess that mine is a earlier one than his. Serial number on mine begins with a A his begins with a J. Cant find much info online but one would assume that means mine is one of the early ones.

The early A7 stocks got a rep for breaking so that might explain it.

Makes sense, at only just over 500 grams for a synthetic stock its incredibly light compared to say a standard tikka stock.

    Kimber Montana 7m08, 22" barrel & Swarovski 3-9x 36
The very last Montana left in the country after Kimber stopped sending them down here, so I bought it to sit on.
It's only fired 6 sighting in shots + 3 more to check their 1MOA guarantee, which it passed.

Sensing a theme there Nimrod! Nice rifles.
Getting older is compulsory, growing up is entirely optional.

pretty sure the potential weakness in the early A7 stocks was in the forend, particularly when loading up the swivel stud on a bipod.
