The fugly 22
2.3kg all up.
Norinco JW15. Off centre bore by about 2mm, 'custom' foam and fiberglass lightweight stock. Painted ocean blue gloss because that's what I had that day.
Built for the role of volume rabbit shooting from a vehicle.

Rem Model 7, Manner stock Hardy barrel, Neopod, DPT & Z6 still tips the scales at 3642gr
I'm happy with the weight though as it shoots superb off hand & prone.

I want it
Fuk me there must be some mussel men on here, when I think of LW alrounders, 3 kg is well n truly the limit
Had plenty of grouse light weight guns over the years, but here's my latest, grouse little rifle
I was running mine with a real lw scope but now running something ( what may look a bit over sized but far more useful for what I want, still under six pound at 2.69kg with the 18x Z5i ) 20" 6.5CM

It’s interesting to read through the posts here and see what everyone is running for a Lightweight rig .
I went down the Lightweight road a while back and now find for my application’s I actually prefer a slightly heavier Rifle.
To accurately shoot a Lightweight Rifle takes soon doing , the increased recoil and losing sight of the target as the shot is triggered became a problem for me .
I do have to say that I’m not climbing huge mountains and carrying everything on my back for days , so I happily accept a Rifle that weighs a bit more for the benefits of better shoot ability.
My Tikka 6.5x55 in a Hi-Tec stock is the lightest I can comfortably put up with and even then I often think about how it might be better with another 500g -1000g of extra weight.
Some nice looking rigs. Not too much bling.
Out of interest I weighed mine and was shocked. 3.4kg. I thought it was lighter than that. I guess a vx6 and extra baffles all adds up. If anyone wants to sell their kimber hunter let me know. Can find them anywhere anymore
My light rifle for bush hunting purchased 1977 has 850 kills here and Australia. Empty 2.62 kg, 44 mag.

Ive got a Kimber Hunter in 257R and with a Zeiss HD5 3-15 on it its not as light as I thought either at 3.4kg (without suppressor or bipod).

Zastava 6.5 Grendel 3.4 kg
Rem 700 6x45 3.5 kg
Hey nice. Some walnut! Here's some more. Nothing new under the sun, I dont think the forum was going in 1923 when the Mauser was made but I bet the owner then was showing off to all his mates "Haha my new Mauser is 3.1 kgs scoped" As is the CZ 527 in 6.8, with Leupy scope and suppressor, the biggest problem here us deciding which one to take!
Attachment 242633
Does anyone run one of the Savage Lightweight Storms or Ultralights? Was looking at them recently, and thought I might see one on this thread!
Not under 3 , tad over 3.3 with the suppressor on though
Attachment 242642
In addition to the Mk5 Wby 284 mentioned in earlier post & pic below

Nice 7mm selection @chainsaw
Chainsaw, the stock on your tikka was made by whom?

Yup 100%, real light weigh rifles are great to carry but yes there is a technique to shooting them & they will never be as accurate as their heavier brothers. Most LW's I've had have been short action bush guns so long range accuracy was not an issue.
TIM my Weatherby in 30-06 Terminator Improved was just over 3kg & was close to a 300WM in power, he could be a handful to shoot but luckily his T1 break helped out, but after fucking my collar bone / shooting shoulder I'd probably find him a little jumpy nowadays.
Here's a few of my favs

13" 7-08 Kimber & a beauty 44mag Ruger ( fuk me I hope this piece of art never went in that stupid crusher )
Attachment 242673
Another 44mag, 12" barrel, this was such a great little scrub gun, another I should of never sold
Attachment 242674
Not mine but dads spare that I use a lot when down south.
BSA Majestic 270 weaver classic scope. Not sure on weight but very light and boots like hell, only notice when zeroingAttachment 242769
A couple of weeks with mucking around with it in the evenings. Along with the appropriate number of shed beers.
It's rough as guts! The "buffer tube" for adjustable length of pull, started life as a tripod extender from aliexpress...
As an experiment for overall shape and the functions I wanted it's great. If bits ever fall off it the MkII version will be made with a bit more care
Some real nice rifles posted, few of them a fair bit lighter than mine. Was interested to see how light some have managed to get them.
Heres mine. Sako A7 in 7-08, 14.5 inch barrel, Atec front supressor & wears a Vixen 2-8x32. Weighs a fly shit over 3kg with the supressor + 3 rounds, ready to hunt. Shoots 90gr HH at 3120fps.
Attachment 242843
My brother also shoots a Sako A7 in 7-08, its 15" with a DPT and we were trying to work out why his was a couple hundred grams heavier than mine. Pulled them both apart and turns out theres at least 2 different synthetic stocks that the A7 came with. Mine being the lighter (weighs only 520grams) and his being considerably heavier (730 grams).
