Now we're talking lightweight, can't beat a quality single shot , alot of hunters haven't cottoned on to these rifles when you're really trying to keep the weight down. Dam nice Chamois for first blood of the Merkel!

@Ryan_Songhurst
Quick question?
Did you strip the coating off the stock? Mine peels everytime I touch it with intent to shoot 😅

Just under 3kg with Swarovski Z5 2.4x12
This is my favourite rifle and in 6.5 seems to do everything I want to do

Forbes with Leupold VX 3 - just over 3kg including shoulder strap. Very accurate, well balanced rifle. My son has claimed it otherwise I would be using it more often

Finally the latest purchase Tikka Swarovski Z5 2.4-12 comes with carbon barrel and stock - even a titanium bolt handle
No suppressor, no shoulder strap and 3.4kg
Must admit I am disappointed with the weight as it does nothing that the other two won’t do.
Probably better for long range shots but not likely to happen - may end up reselling without firing a shot.

My Remington Model 7 in 308: Sugg Stock, lightened bolt, handle and everything else, cerakoted barrel etc, lightweight Leupold CDX VX3 and Suppressor. Crazy light - don't have scales to hand, but EVERYONE who as ever handled it says OMG!!
Didn't put it together myself - bought if from an as-light-as-possible rifles tinkerer.
Is a fun gun. I use it for close bush hunting or when I might be out for a long while.

Heres my Australian Pig Rifle .
It's a 6.5 CM with a 20inch T3x Sporter weight barrel with muzzle brake in a Tikka CTR Stock , so that I can get the extra Mag capacity for mobs of Pigs when shooting on big open flat country .
This is the lightest Centerfire that I own in Australia , I do have another Tikka in NZ , 6.5x55 Sporter 18 inch barrel DPT Suppressor , Hi tec Carbon Stock ,Kahles 3-9 Scope , but I've never weighed it .
It would be interesting to know what the weighs in comparison .

I recently read a review in a French hunting magazine about the Sabati rover carbon.2.4 kg.
It was a very accurate rifle at under €2000 . Which easily compete against the Sako carbon light

my 410 folder 1366gms one day I'll get a deer with it!
My Haenel Jaeger 9 .243 just over 3kg with scope etc. Great little accurate takedown.

Posted this before. Just sold to a mate. Was a great little shooter. 6.5 Grendel, Howa mini that I restocked. Talleys, vx1 and rem700 bottom metal. Bobbed the bolt shroud, added a alum bolt knob etc. If you really want lightweight, you gotta go jandal for the recoil pad haha

@FRST Can I ask what you mean by "bobbed" the bolt shroud? It's not a term I'm familiar with and I can't make sense of the meaning
Also where are the best jandals found?
I was just joking about the jandals lol. Although off to the warehouse when next in Taupo!
As a side note, what is the best way to cut and sand jandals? Worth knocking up a hot wire?
Cut them close to the right shape and tape off your rifle butt with masking tape, going right to the edge of the butt. Glue jandal on with a decent epoxy and wait for it to set hard. then grind jandal just the same as a normal butt pad, on a shearing grinder or a circular sanding disc, or a belt sander clamped in to the vice. And carefully sand away ensuring you follow the 'lines" of the stock. Stop sanding as soon as touch the masking tape. Easy peasy, works great.

I would have loved to be under 3kg scoped and ready to go but I'm pretty close!
Not bad considering it's got a 24" barrel, I could probably shed the 100g by dropping the front sight and doing a bit more work in some other places, if I could be bothered!
BSA Majestic featherweight in .308, from 1962. The original actual featherweight. Weighs 7.0 pounds with scope and sling and four rounds in the mag. An old campaigner, checkering worn off and barrel all silvered - but still shoots into an inch.

If its not using Sartorius scales it could be out by kilos :P
Attachment 256150My pack in long rifle.3.2 kgs as it is with the vx5 minus the bipod.6.5prc
Picked up this Howa mini in 6.5 Grendel from here. Already had all of the work done to make it light. 2.9kg without any ammo in the magazine.
