Forbes with Leupold VX 3 - just over 3kg including shoulder strap. Very accurate, well balanced rifle. My son has claimed it otherwise I would be using it more often

Finally the latest purchase Tikka Swarovski Z5 2.4-12 comes with carbon barrel and stock - even a titanium bolt handle
No suppressor, no shoulder strap and 3.4kg
Must admit I am disappointed with the weight as it does nothing that the other two won’t do.
Probably better for long range shots but not likely to happen - may end up reselling without firing a shot.

@FRST Can I ask what you mean by "bobbed" the bolt shroud? It's not a term I'm familiar with and I can't make sense of the meaning

Cut them close to the right shape and tape off your rifle butt with masking tape, going right to the edge of the butt. Glue jandal on with a decent epoxy and wait for it to set hard. then grind jandal just the same as a normal butt pad, on a shearing grinder or a circular sanding disc, or a belt sander clamped in to the vice. And carefully sand away ensuring you follow the 'lines" of the stock. Stop sanding as soon as touch the masking tape. Easy peasy, works great.Quote:

Not bad considering it's got a 24" barrel, I could probably shed the 100g by dropping the front sight and doing a bit more work in some other places, if I could be bothered!
BSA Majestic featherweight in .308, from 1962. The original actual featherweight. Weighs 7.0 pounds with scope and sling and four rounds in the mag. An old campaigner, checkering worn off and barrel all silvered - but still shoots into an inch.
