Seems like a glitch in the matrix , if you goninto the phones storage and find the app you should be able to manually search for an update?. That may help.

Yeah mate thinking its an apple app issue, thanks for the help so far though man, been useful
To be fair even at -9 vs 14 that it is the solution at 400 is only 2 inches out. Enough to piss me off but i'll work with it until I sort it out
I have an iPhone 11, I’ll check with my rangefinder over the weekend.
@Gibo just grabbed my rangefinder. Mine says 14 degrees which is what metservice is saying the temperature is in my area at the moment. Its odd yours keeps says -9 degrees. It has me baffled on what to do since it was the same on two different phones.

I’ve been playing around with adjusting the temperature on the app. It always changes back to the 14 degrees approximately 30 seconds after changing it. I haven’t put my phone on airplane mode though.
Google tells me this is common woth iPhone 11 but doesn't offer any solution .
