Had an S Tac 3-16x42 - good optics but I found the reticle too fine for low light .... or maybe its my failing eye sight.

S-tac all the way. Dials are out of an s111 and reckon they are on par with any dials I have used(currently own a vx5), glass is fine only thing is the weight but that is not a bad thing as you would assume it is well built. Don't think there is a scope on the market for the same money that I would buy over it if I wanted to dial.

Zero point in going 30mm if you don't dial. Stick with the nikon.

    They’re 3-16x42?

Found mine a little too washed out but that’s my eyes.

Great positive clicks and tidy little scopes.

I wanted the 4-20x50 but they were all gone otherwise I would’ve put up with the white and bright optics for my sons .223

If you have the chance to look through one then take it up.

I had a few Nikon’s and the picture will be significantly “nicer” to look through than the Sightron in my opinion.

The sightron will most likely dial better and be more rugged?

Used to do some Possum bashing on Tuhirangi Rd too mate. A nice little farmlet down the end was always full of them. Rabbits died off pretty quickly but there were a few other pests to go wandering for.
    Beautiful part of Rodney!

Not really an upgrade from my experience with them but open to others views as always.
